It’s true. BET gave Lil Wayne 12 awards at this years BET Awards including lyricist of the year. To celebrate that, i’ve compiled actual lyrics from his most recent and award-winning album, Tha Carter III, to show off his lyrical prowess. Like, (Insert author here), Lil Wayne has the innate skill set to create memorable phrases and songs worthy of radio play.

Obviously, we don’t see the BET Awards as a platform for the year’s best music. Who would we be, other than devoted fans of Pitchfork, if we bought every album we were told to by a media outlet. We don’t necessarily have a unique or noteworthy stance on Lil Wayne, he’s a perfectly fine ringtone rapper who was built from the ground up with 10-15 second song snippets. ( I truly do enjoy Mrs. Officer or whatever it’s called.)
